decision analysis partners performed a study of the future of global logistics and e-commerce for an undisclosed client.  The purpose of the study is to evaluate the impact of major upcoming changes in the global logistics environment on the postal industry.  Consumers expect a seamless experience across all shopping channels (store, internet, mobile, catalog).

The Future of Omni-Channeling

To meet customer demands, retailers are driving the logistics of distribution to adapt to changing global market dynamics. On-line, physical, and mail-order channels are being integrated into a unified omni-channel customer experience giving consumers options to shop, transact and receive merchandise when and where they wish. The study looks at changes in manufacturing (3-Printing and manufacturing on demand, off-shoring), changes in the economics of energy,  tracking technologies, 3PL trends, and other trends
