Bernard Markowicz

Dr. Markowicz has over 25 years experience in the analysis and design of complex systems, and in the development of advanced decision support systems in the commercial and government sectors. He has led large consulting efforts in the United States, the Far East and Europe. Dr. Markowicz has authored papers and delivered conference presentations in the area of operations management, information and control strategies, organizations and systems in transportation, the supply chain and networking.

Before founding decision/analysis partners, Dr. Markowicz was a client partner with AT&T Solutions, where he lead the surface transportation consulting practice, and then the strategic planning function for this $2 billion/year subsidiary of AT&T. Prior to joining AT&T, Dr. Markowicz consulted with Arthur D. Little, Inc. where he was responsible for the design and construction of a state-of-the-art network management system and operations center in Washington, DC.

Dr. Markowicz was director of equipment distribution with CSX Transportation, where he also pioneered the use of genetic algorithms for optimal routing and scheduling as Director of Operations Research. Dr. Markowicz holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Urban Planning from Princeton University. He earned a Masters and Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Liege, Belgium.
