DAP developed a database application to help its postal client create a foundation for labor planning. The client’s in-plant staff was not aligned to the Planned hours authorized by the Budgeting process, nor did it properly reflect the operational requirements projected in its Operating Plans. dap helped the client develop a standardized template that provided Production Control managers with the capability to determine whether the staffing ‘structure’ was adequate and, if so, whether the actual allocation of staff (the staffing ‘status’) was sufficient. By pulling pertinent data from various databases, DAP consolidated all relevant information into one centralized source to help Production Control managers justify their staffing decisions.
