Few Oregon startups have launched to greater expectations than Earth Class Mail. The grand concept was to take old-fashioned paper mail and digitize it, so you could access letters from anywhere and wouldn't have to bother with the piles of paper and junk mail that flood our mailboxes.

U.S. Postal Service Begins 2011 with Loss in First Quarter

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) ended the first quarter of this fiscal year (Oct. 1 - Dec. 31, 2010) with a net loss of $329 million. Excluding the cost of prefunding future retiree healthcare benefits and noncash adjustments to the workers’ compensation liability, the Postal Service would have had a net income of $226 million.

WASHINGTON – May 3rd, 2011 — The U.S. Postal Service today honored Ohio-based branding agency Mlicki with a Marketing Achievement in Innovation and Leadership (MAIL) Award for a direct mail campaign that attained a 10 percent response rate.
